Formatting is the process of transforming your manuscript from pages on a word processor to a proper book. It's inserting page numbers, headers and footers, chapter headers, all the front and back matter, etc., and ensuring it meets industry standards and best practices.

Careful attention is paid to font size, line spacing, widows, orphans, and runts, and other mostly behind the scenes details that make your book shine.

Special features are available such as full bleed images, block quotes, subheads, text conversations, verse, and more.

Vellum formatting software is used for most projects. For more complex layouts, Adobe InDesign is used (additional charges apply—email for quote). Files provided are PDFs for print and reflowable EPUBs for ebooks. Native Vellum or InDesign files provided on request.
